Working with The Children's Society (a Christian charity) I created the new branding for their Christingle Christmas campaign, highlighting its 50th year. I then created a secondary version for continued use without the 50 years mark. The Christmas campaign focussed on the idea of a young persons "first Christmas". For some young people their first "happy Christmas" safe at home comes much later in life.
Christingle is a candle-lit, festive celebration. Christingles are made from an orange decorated with red ribbon, sweets and a candle. They have been part of The Children's Society history for the last 50 years. Any money raised from the event goes towards supporting children and young people in the darkest situations imaginable.
"The symbolism of Christingle: The orange represents the world. The red ribbon symbolises the love and blood of Christ. The sweets/ dried fruit represent all of God’s creations. The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness."
As the ribbon represents the love of Christ for 'TCS', I created a campaign that used the theme of the ribbon to wrap around the children and young people's stories and imagery.
