Raising Your Game is a Mencap project for young people aged between 14 and 25, with a learning disability or communication difficulty, who have been in trouble with the police or are at risk of getting into trouble. The project was developed in direct response to what young people told Mencap about their dreams and aspirations, and the problems they encounter achieving them.
As this project fast became a success, Mencap felt it needed its own identity. I created a sub-brand logo for Raising your game, characters that reflect the young people (based on their own drawings and ideas from a workshop I conducted) and an identity that followed through all materials and collateral.
With Big lottery funding, Mencap presented to the house of Lords showcasing where this money would be spent and how the project has improved the lives of many disadvantaged people with learning disabilities in the UK.
